Free electronics collection to be held

Thousands of electronics were collected at an event held at the road commission on April 16, 2011.
The Calhoun County Solid Waste Department has a solution for getting rid of the old electronics you’ve been storing. You can bring them to a free electronics recycling event being held in the City of Battle Creek. Residents can safely recycle televisions and other electronics, keeping them out of our landfills and putting the materials they are made of back to use.

The free recycling event will be held on Saturday, Sepetember 10, 2011, from 9am-1pm at the City of Battle Creek Department of Public Works. That’s located at 150 S. Kendall St., in Battle Creek.

Items that will be accepted for free are listed below:

  • Computer monitors
  • Televisions
  • CPU’s
  • Copy & fax machines
  • Keyboards
  • Video game systems
  • Mice
  • VCR’s
  • Printers
  • PDA’s
  • DVD players
  • Radios
